Mangrove restoration activity in conjunction with International Day for the conservation of the mangrove ecosystem

A Mangrove replanting program was conducted in collaboration with the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (JPSM) on 26th August 2023 (Saturday). A total of 300 mangrove saplings, Rhizophora apiculata (Local name: Bakau Minyak) were successfully replanted at Hutan Simpan Banjar Utara, with the participation of students from the Monash University. This program, held in conjunction with the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, spread awareness on the importance of mangroves and also to reach the national target in “Kempen Penanaman 100 Juta Pokok” by 2025.
