BACKGROUND

Wetlands International is a global not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wetlands. Wetlands are areas where water is the primary factor controlling the environment and the associated plant and animal life.  Despite our efforts to promote their importance, loss and damage to wetlands and their biodiversity continues. Our vision is a world where wetlands are treasured and nurtured for their beauty, the life they support and the resources they provide.

We are a science-based organisation producing tools and information to assist the development and implementation by government of relevant policies, conventions and treaties that are required to achieve wetland conservation. We are a source of “best-informed” opinion on key issues affecting wetlands and priority actions for their conservation and wise use, drawing on scientific analyses and our own experience in global and national conservation and natural resource management programmes. In doing this work, we are responsive to the needs expressed by governments, industry sectors, local communities and other stakeholders.

To support our work at the national level, Wetlands International is seeking a qualified Malaysian to fill in the Technical Officer position at our office.
